How important is the ‘OK, Thanks’

I am sitting here wondering, how important is the ‘OK, Thanks’ or ‘OK, Noted’ email.

Does it count towards another email that we don’t need or does it provide us much-needed acknowledgment-comfort?

I ask around. There is no consensus. Some people don’t appreciate your Thank You email. Whilst others feel unheard if they don’t get an OK from you.
